About The Band

The Dyas Band has formed in 1997. Our purpose is to present simple, unaccustomed music in a novel way about meaningful things for sensible people. We constantly play with varied sounding and our shows have recieved good criticism both from the audience and the profession.

The Hungarian musical papers acknowledged our released demos (Dyas I. and Gyerek), compositons for performances (Pesti Est and Anti-Fashion Show) and our re-interpreted mix (Fuck ’em and their law) approvingly. We have been invited several times to the Hungarian Music Chanel (Z+) and the adaptation of AC/DC’s Night Prowler has come out on the AC/DC Tribute Album (as Zeus and Dyas Project). Our concert album, entitled Dyas – A38 has been released in 2006.
We play in clubs (Underground Cafe, Süss Fel Nap, Benczúr Ház, Banán, Woodoo, E-klub, Bp-i és Gödöllői Trafó, Pesti Est, Freeport, Marco Polo, A38, Gödör, Silvuplé, West Balkán, Kék Lyuk, Living Room, Egri Más, Békéscsaba. Szolnok, Tatabánya, Tata, Romhány, Rétság) and we participate on festivals both in Hungary (Sziget’s Z+, Zanzibár and Civil stages; Kotta Festival and Művészetek Völgye) and abroad (Italian-Hungarian Cultural Season and several art programes in Vienna). Our band has received the 3rd prize on the Ethno Festival of Szolnok.
We present music for performances on exhibition opening ceremonies (Artus Színház, Suzuki galéria, Benczúr, Café Miro, Trafó, Pesti Est Café, MOM, Trafik Galéria, Szkéné, Millenáris, Magyar Rádió, Centrál Cafe, Gödör, Fonó) and our compositions have been used in dance theatre plays and fashion shows (Zalaegerszeg, Mu színház, Szkéné, Millenáris).

About Our Musical Faith

Our musical self is presented in a form that is based on the relationship of man and machine. Compositions rely on the natural sounds of our environment; as for the thundering sounds of racing buffalo herds never disturbed the song of american indians, the ringing sound of a telephone can also melt into our music which is filled with industrial noises.
Our purpose is to create a music where the electric sounding meets the ancient tunes and lyrics of our folks. Our lyrics unfolds emotional stages, weaved with light and shadow.

Our Show

We believe that each motion of the performer denotes his message. We know that a good song preserves its Power even with a simple accompaniment, however, our concerts are special owing to the energetic and spectacular manner of performance. Mood, lyrics, movement, form and expression are succesively being born, together with the song, within the Unity of our message. There is no separation, nor supplementation of the other. Our goal, to guide the audience’s attention towards sybolic- and reasoning perspective, is reached through the incorporation of ancient and contemporary symbols appearing in our shows. The stage suggests an installation, weaving together the industrial trash with natural objects. Our outfits, masks and body paints have special roles, as well. Intelligibility and processing are important for we believe that what we show is universal and human. Our goals are only reached when the song is recieved by the audience.

The list of our previous concerts can be seen in the Hungarian version.
